From the Ground up.

Hello, I'm Jen!

Jillian  Michael from the Biggest Loser said something the resonated with me last night. To paraphrase, you have to end something to have a new beginning.  And, I thought, what do I need to end?

I've been stuck at a crossroads for about two years.  In 2011, I lost 40 lbs, finished an associates degree, and  pretty much made a life of trying to please my husband while he finishes a science PhD. Toppled with anxiety (which I like to call being a home-body) and PCOS, I have used every excuse in the book to stay at the weight I am and not do the things I want to do. I overeat and my husband never asked me to wait around for him and is perfectly happy being my partner.  I have sat around in a state of general unhappiness taking the burden of  most of the housekeeping, feigning fatigue, and looking into a future that is too far away.

Today, I am leaving the people-pleasing, anxious Jen behind and starting anew. This blog is for me and I can't wait to share it with you.

(Please don't feel sorry for me. I am blessed in so many ways that I hope you will get to know. I have a supportive husband, two amazing dogs, a fabulous knitting hobby,  and an understanding family. That is what this blog is going to be about. I just wanted to give a little background.)

I'd like to tell you a little about me:

*I love to Knit
*I listen to a lot of podcasts
* I like reading romance novels.
* I would like to take up running.
*My husband and I are minimalists.
*We hope to have a farming homestead with chickens.
*I like Duck Dynasty and the Biggest Loser.
